Visitor Laura recently shared this recipe and photos of her oven-roasted plum butter featuring maple!
- 8 pounds of plums
- 1 1/2 cups of maple syrup
- 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions: Quarter and pit plums. Add maple syrup and let sit for two hours. Roast plums in 375 degree oven for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Prepare boiling water bath and 5 half pint jars. When plums are done cooking, add the rest of the ingredients and let it cool down. Use an immersion blender to puree mixture. Put butter into jars, apply rings, and process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes.
